COVID Health Safety Announcement to those Attending the PHS Class of 1971 50th Reunion Events

At this time, the COVID transmission level has risen to "substantial" in Portsmouth. With that, the Elks Lodge has sent us this request: "Per the new CDC guidelines and the increasing rate of infections locally, we are encouraging all staff members as well as guests to wear masks while inside and not seated at their table’s regardless if they are vaccinated or unvaccinated.

We appreciate your patience while we remain to ensure a safe and healthy environment for everyone." Currently there is no mask mandate from the State of below. NH, City of Portsmouth, he or any of the businesses hosting our events.

Please be mindful of health safety when you attend our events. It is your responsibility to protect yourself, and those around you; people at the event, and in the community you return to. As things stand now, it is your choice to mask, or not. Masks will be available for all when you check in at the Friday Meet and Greet and the Saturday Dinner.

No one wants to be a COVID spreader, nor do we want our class reunion to become a “spreader event".

Dear Portsmouth High School Classmates, Class of 1971

The Class of 1971 Reunion Committee is currently planning our 50th Anniversary Class Reunion.  Can you believe it’s been that long since our graduation?  The date has been set for Saturday, August 14th, and will be held at the newly renovated Elks Lodge in Portsmouth, NH.  Hopefully, everyone will have the opportunity to receive COVID-19 immunizations prior to this date, and we will be able to safely move forward with this event within NH state and local safety guidelines.

We request your help in locating classmates for whom we currently do not have current contact information.   Minimally we would like to obtain classmates’ emails and cell phone numbers.  Ideally, we would also obtain a mailing address.  Please use the linked form below to provide this information for yourself or an acquaintance.

PHS CLASS OF 1971 CONTACT INFORMATION

If you’re planning on making a weekend of it, reconnect with old friends by joining some of the smaller organized events planned around Saturday evening's main event. These include: Friday, a mid-day golf tournament (scramble format), and concurrently, a private, guided tour of the Portsmouth Black Heritage Trail, both followed by a twilight kick-off social for everyone to be held under the tent at the Pease Country Club.

Saturday morning, join in a tour of the new Portsmouth High School presented by current PHS students or a 2.5 hour, guided kayak tour of Sagamore Creek and the Newcastle Island Back Channel. You'll still have time to rest up for the Saturday evening main event at  “Waterfront at the Elks” Lodge on Sagamore Creek. On Sunday, wrap up the weekend with a bring-your-own picnic and grill at Four Tree Island, Prescott Park. Look for details on this site's "EVENTS" page.

We sincerely hope you can join us for this historic event. Bookmark and return to this site for event details which we will release as soon as plans are finalized. Use the "CONTACT US" menu item at the top of this page to message the Reunion Commitee about any related matters.
